iPhone X A1865 SIM free, will it work with French carriers?

Want to know if the iPhone X A1865 SIM free model is "region" locked, to only work with US carriers. While it says it's SIM free and has the GSM bands to work world wide will it work with French carriers?

never heard of a phone being region locked. [ carrier locked = yes ] phone should work with any carrier in the world providing it has the correct bands.

SIM free model will work world wide.

Depends where you buy it. From Apple, unlocked phones work worldwide. Bestbuy "unlocked" is US only, and locks to the first carrier used.

You’ll need the A1901, according to Apple, even if the A1865 and A1901 support the exact same bands.

That is incorrect. That page only states that the model sold in France is A1901. That doesn't mean A1865 or A1902 won't work there just as well (which they will if unlocked).

If the device was bought without a SIM and it's country unlocked then of course it will work. And it looks like it is unlocked, no need to worry.
