Have any regular data users here on TracFone CDMA noticed mobile data speed improvements?

That's really old news. It started over the summer. Although my understanding is that to get those speeds, users were moved to a different APN. That APN allowed the higher speeds, but increased the ping time to the MVNO's backend. There's a guy on here who was complaining up a storm about the latency around that time.

I haven't run a data speed test on my Rebel 2 before, but this is what I get now.

There was a PPN article in August that announced the end of the speed cap for the TracFone companies. This was first noticed by some users in July.

Thanks for the replies and speedtest screenshot. Guess I forgot about or missed the August PPN report.

If anyone knows/finds the threads where August or previous TracFone CDMA speed tests were discussed, feel free to drop a link in this thread.

Speeds vary a lot depending on the network congestion, especially upload.

The PPN article (or at least the BestMVNO article it's based on) is about Red Pocket. I reported this back in December: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...on-unthrottled

Note the ping of 21 ms in the test. Also my Red Pocket/Verizon SIM uses the same VZWINTERNET APN as Verizon Prepaid or one of my TracFone/Verizon SIMs.

I have not done any speed tests with my TracFone/Verizon SIMs, since it uses a lot of data and I don't see the point. I could use the dslreports.com/speedtest/simple test which uses a lot less data but that seems to report much higher latency than the Speedtest app.

You haven't been forced to the new APN yet? Or just had not been then?

On which SIM? I haven't checked recently, but as far as I know all of my Verizon SIMs are using VZWINTERNET except the one I just transferred to an iPhone SE and that one is TRACFONE.VZWENTP.

Got 26.6Mbps upload today. Haven't seen upload speeds above 10Mbps.

Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using HoFo mobile app

I don't see my iPhone 6 tracfone Verizon APN settings. Now and where do I check on the phone?

I don't think you can see or change the APN settings on an iPhone. I was able to see that the APN is set to TRACFONE.VZWENTP for the SIM that I activated on an iPhone SE by swapping the SIM to a Moto E4.
