    New firmware update S6 Cricket

My Cricket ST just found a new firmware update and it is 450 Megs or so. Is this just one of those normal periodic security updates or is this a real update to a higher version with real changes?

Yeah but I was seeing some reports from past month about new firmware causing horrible battery life etc. I just didn't know what update this would be because I already have Android 7

This place is garbage for information of this kind. Go hit up XDA. Monthly security patches are usually a 1/10 of that size though. I haven't had an S6 in a long time, so I am of no help.

Don't know about your phone, but Cricket/Samsung just updated one of their phones from MM to Nougat, rather surprisingly.

Sent from my Z982 using HoFo mobile app

Why would you post this without saying which phone?

Here is the update page for this phone. Says software and only 56MB

    Ok will check it out

I am on Android 7.0. That is Nougat I believe. I doubt that they are rolling out 8.0 now. Maybe it is 7.1

Don't plan on Oreo on the S6.

    Just found this....

    https://www.cricketwireless.com/cont..._s6_011618.pdf

Doesn't tell me much except for "Android Software Update"

I guess I will close my eyes and jump in the pool....

Well I don't know what it was

451 Megs yet it still says Android 7.0

Maybe just a big security update but it wasn't named as such
