Interesting. Someone in another thread had a iPhone 5s that Verizon was reporting as no longer compatible while MVNOs say it is.

MVNOs are still allowed new 3G and non-VoLTE phone activations.
Unlike many TF Inc. Subs in recent weeks and now months, TF Inc. not showing much love to their TF service customers.

I know. But the posts about include some phones still passing at Verizon that shouldn't (2 first gen Moto Gs)

Was just adding the iPhone as a data point.

So maybe some devices have initially escaped being purged from the whitelist? The ban on new 3G and non-VoLTE phone activations is apparently official, so I am sure they will purge them all soon.

    Could be.

It is interesting that they are tagged different. The no longer part, instead if just not comparable.

Edit: Actually, that may not be accurate as it's pulling it from the build.prop. The only way to know for sure is to get in to the bootloader screen. That will reveal the actual device model #.

I just ran 2 xt1028's (vzw moto g's) successfully through the vzw activate site.

Hmm.. I don't see it. The newer moto phones have that detail on this screen. Maybe one of the barcodes has the XT #?

The boot up screen is just part of the system. You could pop off the back cover to see what's printed on the label. I think it would have the XT designation there. Did you try the barcodes option from fastboot?

I don't know what to make of it then. I tried different xt1028 meid's on their website (using pc, not phone/tablet), all 3 come back valid. That's not to say it won't get hung up further in the activation process.

Actually, while checking I got a popup chat. Had the rep run the same meid's which now come back invalid.

I don't have any vzw accounts to actually test with, so... ymmv. Thanks for finding that XT # though.

Wow! it's no wonder some Vzw MVNOs can't seem to get things right. Vzw's own website is giving wrong info!

So to be clear, Verizon's site says OK but chat says not?

And not just once, but 3 separate devices?

    Yet somehow I'm not surprised.

I'm so glad I have no vzw based accounts any [email protected]#

    1) https://www.verizonwireless.com/pros...-own-device/#/
    Result: All 3 devices invalid

    2) https://www.verizonwireless.com/brin...te#checkDevice
    Result: All 3 devices valid

Clearly the front end is not communicating well with the @ss end!

Well I tried my LG Ultimate 2 (3G only) and it failed, granted it is a Tracfone branded device, but it did pass the same checker last year. The U2 passes all the other MVNOs I tried it with?

Pulled out my old SG Fascinate(3g only) and it passed the Verizon BYOD checker

I can't get the BYOD Pre-Paid checker to complete a check on either, it just sits and spins?
