I'm having a hard time believing this old Alcatel candy bar phone from 2014/2015 uses a nano SIM as mentioned in the OP. . Might want to confirm the dimensions of the original SIM.

I stand corrected, it's a micro and they sent me a mini so it was still to big.

I went through chat once more and the rep said my phone would not work with a BYOP sim so the previous rep was wrong which I had doubts of when she said that.

They are sending out my 3rd sim for this phone, fingers crossed it'll work this time.

Is the SIM that they sent not double-punch with a micro inside a mini ?

The Alcatel BE+ has two slots, up top above the battery for the SIM card and on the left side, under the battery, for the memory card.
The correct size SIM is the LARGEST size, the STANDARD.
Tracfone calls their SIM sizes, standard, micro and nano.
The BE+ can be used with AT&T or T-Mobile standard sized SIMs.
The correct SIM model number for the BE+ for AT&T service is TF64SIMC4 V2. This is a locking SIM
Tracfone Smartphones SIMs and BYOP SIMs are unlocked SIMs.

This is what I would expect regarding the sim.

I wonder if the OP even tried the official sims, or just looked at the situation and decided visually that the size was wrong.

The standard sims do look impossible.

Did they agree to send you a TracFone AT&T SIM card?

Hopefully they send the correct size this time.

Yep, all 5 of my retired "G" phones have the TF64SIMC4 V2 standard (mini) SIM.
And they were always locked to the phone, even replacement ones. I assume by the ESN.

Ok I owe everyone here an apology and thank you. I feel like a total idiot. I guess after getting the wrong T-Mobile sim when signing up for Safelink when I specifically requested AT&T I came to the conclusion to fast that the replacement was the wrong size.

Lisme was almost spot on. I did initially look at it and thought it was to big but I did try it also and it didn't seem to fit so I stopped trying. I did try it again earlier and turns out I had hold it at a slight angle until it started then it went right in.

It does take the standard size and that's what they sent me, the phone is active now. Again thanks all, I am going to hide now. I'm usually not that quick to judgement, just got a lot going on lately.

    Apology accepted.
If the apology is abject enough, then there is no need to hide.

I think quick to judgement is one that burns a lot of us.
I know it does me too often.
