Really helps alleviate them of silly little things like carrier subsidies for phones. This really should've been possible for years now. Is this actually new?

Interesting. I wonder if you can use Breeze-thru to add lines to an existing account.

Blacksurfer may want to amplify on this, but www.cricketwireless.com/join Will do it.

Jmo, it's not well explained, but if you work thru it, using the current customer selection, it worked instantly.

Just my guess, but I bet this is a spin off of breeze.

No it's not. Theoretically anything's possible, but there's no way this is happening.

Jmo, but this is just innovation, supposed progress, similar to bank atm's, and ordering kiosk',etc. As has been said anything is possible, but the profit from these, are from reduced number of employees and the advantages that carries, ie they can work 24/7 without complaining, bathroom/lunch breaks etc.

All it takes is someone trying to impress at a meeting and saying, "Hey...why don't we charge extra for the breeze through service...it will still be cheaper than in store activation and we'll make straight profit without having to pay any other costs..."

I think if that were to happen, they'd probably charge for the "old" way of activating on the web site or calling in before this - essentially, it's falling in line with those other self-service models, and by doing a "captive portal" on their network, it does make the process pretty easy and probably does cut customer service costs. As they've never charged for the do-it-yourself methods, I suspect that will continue to "funnel" users away from tying up retail or other customer service means.
