If I had to guess, the costs are outpacing or drastically decreasing the revenue of the feature.
If I'm annoyed and you're annoyed, does that make us a paranoid ??

Or usage was low so it wasn’t worth the administrative costs.

App never worked for me anywhere in Japan, Hungary, Austria, France, Germany etc since I downloaded it in 2013. Finding free Wi-Fi was easier on my own that attempting to connect to something via this app.

The reviews on the Apple App Store (2 stars out of 5) suggest your experience was typical.

I don't travel overseas much, but my wife does, and she a) never installed the app, based on its poor reviews and b) never had trouble finding free Wi-Fi in Europe.

    Global WiFi app going away

The app is not good, I agree.

What _was_ useful is it installed an iOS Profile on your phone and you would automatically connect to any Wi-Fi that was partnered with AT&T (useful for Airports) and public places.

True, works great at PHL international. Since I am there a lot, it's nice and it's fast.
