    Question 5 Lines for $100 - Help with Looking for new Plan & Line

    I'm reading various threads from various internet sources and wanted to verify... a few questions.

    About 2 years ago we got on the 5 lines for $100. About a year later, we dropped a line and never added back on. Can we add the 5th line back and stay on this 5 lines for $100?

    If the answer is no, what's the cheapest 5 lines can we get?

    Is the "old $5 lines for $100" the 5GB plan in terms of data limit?

    So the three cricket plans are:

    * 5GB $40 + $30 + $20 +$20 +$20 = $130 ?
    * Cricket Unlimited 2 (22GB/line) $55 = $55 + $45 + $35 + $35 + 35 = $205
    * Unlimited $60 = $60 + $50 + $40 + $40 + $40 = $230.

    Is that correct? No AutoPay discount.

    Finally, it seems that may my data requirements needs have of changed, in the past I've only used maybe 1-2 GB per month per line ... but one of the lines now may need much more. How much, I'm not really sure, since I've never measured it -- basically, it is "all-day" web surfing with maybe 20-40, 30-seconds videos. What's the cheapest route that I can take...?

    Suggestions? Ideas?

    Thank you!

    $125 5 lines unlimited 2. A simple call to Cricket would've answered this.
    You can never get the 5th line free again under current pricing. You missed out.

    Yep. No way to add the 5th line back now and keep the grandfathered plan. 5 lines of unlimited 2 plan for $125 is your best choice. If you don't like 3 Mbps speed cap for all line, maybe just join your 5th line to a differenct unlimited 2 group and your total cost remains $125.

    Can you answer a couple of questions (no one else seems to have hit on it)?

    1) So, is the old "5 lines for $100" the current "5GB Plan"? Or something completely different?

    2) Besides the price and total data (5GB/line vs 22GB/line) difference between '5 GB' and 'Unlimited 2', are there any other differences?

    3) How would joining the 5th line to a different unlimited 2 group, make it $125? If I'm paying $100 now, wouldn't a new "Unlimited 2 group" with a single line be $55?

    Sorry --- I am not 'up' on various plans from various companies....

    Any other options from other providers or MVNOs?

    I can't understand why you canceled the free 5 th line anyway. You ain't gonna get that old rate back. The only bright spot here is the current true bargain of the 4 or 5 line ul 2 plans, such could be discounted at any time.

    5 Lines for $100 - Help with Looking for new Plan & Line

    1. There isnít a 5 line for $100 plan. Promotion was canceled months back.

    If you wanted to add a line to your current account or make any changes, you will lose grandfathered promotion you have. Essentially your 5GB lines will cost more for a 5th line. So making changes will put you on the newer promo that is as follows:

    5GB cost = 40 + 30 + 20 + 20 + 20 = $130

    Unlimited2 for 4 or 5 lines= 25+25+25+25 = $100 or$125 for 5.

    2. The difference in regards to 5GB vs unlimited2 is the speed. All cricket plans get speeds up to 8 Mbps down and Up with the exception of the Unlimited2 which is capped at 3Mbps down. Also you can turn on or off stream more feature on the 5GB line where as on unlimited2 itís Always on and tries to forces most videos to 1.5mbps (Non-HD). A few HD content does play just fine. And the 5GB plans donít have roaming in Canada and Mexico while the Unlimited2 does.

    3. Iím not sure what youíre referring too. Iím not sure if youíre asking about the Unlimited2 - 4 lines for $100 or what. If you currently pay $100 for 4-5GB lines (if thatís your current promo) and add a 5th line, you will pay the current promo rate which is $130 for the 5GB lines or if you change them all to Unlimited2 plan itíll cost $125 for 5 Lines (donít make changes to your account if you have a grandfathered plan or you will lose it). If they donít have the Unlimited2 5-lines for $125, and you currently have the Unlimited2 4-lines for $100, then itís best to create a separate line for $55 so you donít lose your promo. Call or chat with customer support to verify if they do before making changes to your plans or youíll lose it or be placed on the current promo.

    As far as other MVNO promos youíll have to search online or other forums. I personally donít look since weíre happy with our payment and coverage. Where I live T-Mobile and sprint are terrible while Verizon and AT&T proper are more expensive for what we want. Other MVNO donít give us what we want for the same price, coverage, and reliability cricket does including taxes and fees where we live.

    Keep your 4 lines where they are and for the 5th line you can find a group at reddit and only pay $25 per month for unlimited 2 plan
    https://np.reddit.com/r/CricketGroups/

    With one Cricket unlimited 2 line in the family does come handy when you travel to Canada or Mexico, or give it to a kid who can not control his cell phone data usage. Watching YouTube videos is fine with this throttled speed.

    I wish I hadn't switched. I was good with 5GB and my kid was always going over. I prefer she not have data in school except their Wi-Fi. Now it's unlimited. 3 vs 8 really isn't that big of a deal. I can notice it on large updates, but as far as videos I don't watch enough on a 6.3" screen that 480 upsets me.

    The 5th line was remove over a year ago... and it was due to an issue that my significant and her sibling had (some sort of family argument that expanded to name calling). I procrastinated on getting a 5th line because I wanted to transfer in a number and get a discount on a phone but kept waiting for T-Mobile to have it's $1 sale which never happened.

    Yeah, sort of understand, and who knew cricket was going to change 5/100. The 5/125 also good rate.
