    Exclamation Snowstorm Service March 2018

Hey all! Let me start by saying, my thoughts are with all those affected. Being that I have friends close to the impacted area, how’s the service? Any updates?

    Thanks!

I use Verizon through Xfinity, lost power for 2 days, but phone service was solid, including hot spot data. I had to use my vehicle to keep charging the phone. My father uses Tmobile and had no service.

That's one are Verizon seems to reign supreme, backup reliability.

TMobile seems to be better in that regard than they used to be but they still have a ways to go

    Snowstorm Service March 2018

My sister in NoVA lost power for 20 hours and her AT&T service went down with it. But she said the Verizon users still had service the whole time.

Does your username refer to the town of Chatham, NJ? If so Verizon has a generator on every site here except their small cell sites.

MA, and I do believe they use backup generators.

TMobile seems to have gotten better with backup power and very reliable overall but to me it seems like Verizon is top dog for seeing the most generators at sites.

TMobile claims that most new sites get generators

TMobile goes out sometimes once the power goes out. I think they may use generators on some sites but not as much as Verizon

My power was out here in Northern VA for 33 hours. But during that time Verizon and T-Mobile was up in my area. Although both had reduced speeds. Which was probably due to the large volume of people using cellular data while their power was out.

I believe "not as much as Verizon" should be the motto of T-Mobile.

We had no issues with Verizon or AT&T here in Philadelphia suburbs (speaking for my direct area of course).
