I am getting 5G and good speed (Tello charged against my DATA allotment for speedtest). I noticed that I can use either T-mobile's default APN and MMSC or Tello's (wholesale).
I don't think it makes any difference in speed or network selection.

That's great to hear, part of my research has indicated that Samsung's OneUI devices behave much like the iPhones do with "unsupported" SIMs.

I signed up 6month service through stacksocial coupon code a month ago. Can I port-in my old number now? Would it affect 6month service auto renewal?
Edit: never mind. It didn't affect the auto renewal.

How was that done? As much as I'm aware, Tello only sells customer cellular service month by month, and not multiple months at a time.

I signed up for two Tello 6month plan with unlimited call and txt and 2GB Data (after 2G) for $67.15 with promo code OIUFSANR from Stacksocial.com (their price is $79 before promo code, one line was for $49). New customer only.
Basically you buy activation code from Stacksocial and redeem at Tello.

My Tello referral code is P3GDVKRX, and gets both of us 10 Tello Dollars to pay for a plan.

I see lots of people giving out the referral codes for $ credit.
Can one use the credit to pay for the first month, or does Tello want the cost of the first month to be in cash from credit card?

First month/activation requires real money - credit card or PayPal.

Although you have to pay for the first month, the credits become available immediately after that, so you can use them for the second month: no 60-day waiting period that a lot of providers have.
