    Upgrade tips/tricks?

Any way to get deals on phone upgrades?
I don't have any more #'s to port in; I need to keep my 5/$100 plan
I have sim cards, why do they charge $25 'upgrade' fee? I know how to pop a sim out/in!

In store vs online? anyone better?

Online is better. Just start a new account and figure in the $30 plan as a sunk cost. You can buy numbers to port in off ebay for about $5.

    Thanks.
And remind me, I can buy an unlocked GSM phone (look for the right bands) or AT&T phone; but not an AT&T prepaid phone right?

Check your local Best Buy stores. They are blowing out the Cricket Huawei Elate for about $45, or less. It's a great phone.

Thanks everyone; that's what I was looking for.

Loved my Moto G5+ for the last year+ but the flaky wi-fi is getting annoying!

Thinkning about going back to the Idol, maybe the 4 or 5... IDK what to get.

Wife's Stlyo 2 also sucks; bought a new battery & it still only gets 3-4hrs (light usage) before its dead. I'm sure there's an app draining it, but can't figure it out. So maybe a LG X Charge for her?

    - umm nope, discontined.
    How about X Charge?
    - got 1 left?
    how Much?
    - full retail; no discounts at all
    - I can order online & save $50? can you match?
    - uuuhhh, nope

You stopped in to a Cricket store? The odds say that was a mistake.

Seriously, if there's a Best Buy near you then go pick up the Cricket Huawei Elate. Big screen, huge battery, octa-core Snapdragon CPU, supports HD Voice on Cricket, for the ~$45 is pretty much a no-brainer.

The Freetel Wave that's apparently going to replace the Elate is (yet) another one of Cricket's Snapdragon 210 babies.

I just did a look see about the elate as well really sucks cuz I would love to have one and all sold out I can find one on swappa and a few on eBay that are being sold for like 80 bucks.
I wouldn't hold your breath about the Moto my Moto G4 play I'm on my second one first one had screen issues this one has Wi-Fi / Bluetooth issues and can't seem to hold a GPS signal for more than 2 minutes and I can't get them to replace it and this was supposed to get nougat and it's now no longer even on the list to receive nougat.

I have been pleased with the Idol 4. We did have a top speaker issue which was addresssed under warranty. But the specs were solid when I paid $100 for it. Even better at $40 with port in.

I had the idol 3 since joining Cricket. LOVE'd it, but now I can't remember why I upgraded... musta been a hardware issue...
Then I loved my G5 for about 10-12 months; but the last 4+ it's a pita!

Glad both idol 4 & 5 kept the flip screen; that's my absolute favorite feature! pull out of pocket & it's always upright!
The dual front speakers are a close 2nd; yet I'm never in a position to really use them =(

maybe the 5 will have a sale soon... when the 6 comes out probably.
