Question 5 for $100 Data/Calling while in Canada

Does anyone know if the 5 for $100 Cricket (no longer available plan) includes data or calling while in Canada [back to the US] (without additional charges)?

We will be here this summer for a week.

I did a search but couldn't find anything definite.

    Thanks.

It's pretty clear on their website:

    https://www.cricketwireless.com/mexi...ing-plans.html

    Then there is this:

Unlimited Calling and Messaging to Mexico and Canada*:

*Does not include the Northern Territories of Canada (867 area code or Yukon, Northwest Territory, and Nunavut). Cricket Unlimited Calling and Messaging to Mexico and Canada is included in Rate Plans starting at $50/mo (including $50/mo+ grandfathered plans), and includes Unlimited Calling, International Texting (SMS), and Picture and Video Messaging (MMS), from the US, Puerto Rico and the USVI to landline numbers and wireless numbers in Mexico and Canada.

So what is the non-discounted price for an individual line in your account? If the individual non-discounted price is less than $50 then no. If it's more then yes.

I'm trying to remember but it seems like the non-discounted individual price for the 5 for $10-0 is $40/line. So there you go, it's a no.

    5 for $100 Data/Calling while in Canada

Switching to 5/125 would be one way to get Canadian roaming.

Incidentally, calling 867 numbers also seems to work just fine on Cricket. It used to be blocked, but started working at some point.

Maybe he signed up during a different portion of ToS than I did. He posted at 1:30AM forum is dead then. Chat would get right in. He pays for their support mine was free. Get what you pay for.

What is the 5/125? Is that 5 lines for $125 or 5GB for $125? Maybe is that the Unlimited or Unlimited Max?

I believe I would lose my high-speed data, is that correct? With the Unlimited plan, I believe data is throttled to 3 mbps? Down from 8 mbps?

If you can specify your dates of the trip, I might be able to help you with an unlimited plan line. PM me.

It does not. And you would lose your 5/$100 if you change anything.

If I need to go to Mexico or Canada I would move 5 lines to AT&T prepaid from Cricket. 5 8GB lines would be $140. No savings for going down to 5GB which is $5 less per line but the auto-pay discount decreases from $10 to $5 per line. Besides Canada & Mexico roaming you get more U.S. roaming, and faster data. On Cricket, it would be much more expensive to have five lines with roaming and hotspot, unless you chose the highly-throttled unlimited plan. 8Mb throttling is no problem, but 3Mb is a little too slow. Of course I think back to my first portable device which had a 300 baud acoustic modem built in!
