I don’t do too much with that feature, but it’s nice to have if need be.

Actually it’s only $5 more a month for the double data, not $10.

Same here. I have about 7 more days till my plan changes to 12GB/month. This is a great deal considering things like; hotspot, rollover data, and FAN discounts still apply.

Yeah I really like the idea of having hotspot for all the data. If I rollover some that would be a nice chunk of hotpot plus with discount it's not a bad deal at all

It depends on your plan. 10GB+ is $10 more a month.

So can I call in and drop to a lower level plan? I'm currently at 10GB, but 12GB is cheaper than I'm currently paying (and I don't need 20GB)?

I am on a 25GB MSA. I called CS Retention's because my plan did not double on my cycle date. in my conversations with her i explained i really only used approx 25 GB's a month and if the plans were in fact doubling, could i drop to the 16GB plan since it would double to 32GB. That would save me approx $15 a month. She said she couldn't do that , but raised my 25GB to 40GB at the same price point i was currently paying. The MSA plans are retired so they are playing hardball as far as what they are offering.
    Good luck with your plan.

just a point of reference that is divergent from most people here. we have been on a 6gb plan for $40 for the past couple of years. that serves us well since we use on average about 4gb per month, so if we have a peak month, we typically have 8gb available with rollover. the most we have ever used was 5.2gb for a "big month."

having not read here for a couple of months, i logged into my account yesterday to see that a "plan change was pending." as noted above, this was an automatic change from 6gb to 12gb, but at a cost of $45/mo. of course, that's a great deal if we wanted more data and "only $5" but for us, it's pointless and another chance for AT&T to get another few bucks from us.

thankfully, the rep was able to reverse that doubling during the next cycle and we can keep our current plan.

aside: i also complained about the crazy increase in admin fee from 0.76 to $1.99 over 5 months. he was able to offer me a $20 one time courtesy credit.

Did you call retentions to get this? I'm in a similar place - I don't need the doubled data for $10 more.

In all honesty I don’t need 12Gbs either. 6GBs is plenty for me.

    Thanks Derek87

BTW, while they don't appear to be advertised on the website, it appears that the modified MSA plans remain available as detailed here:
