One year added to service end date

My service end date was 8/26/2018 so, when I needed more texts, I bought the extra year of service. I am positive that it extended my service end date to 8/26/2019. Today, when I checked my balances, the end date is 8/25/2020. First, the day is off by one and a year is added.

Has anyone else had this happen and, if so, did Tracfone eventually fix it or negatively (for you) mess it up? I'm happy for an additional year but who knows what will happen if they fix it.

This happens randomly. They won't bother you about it. It's trivial to them, especially since it's associated with a purchase. A purchase seems to make these things get a pass. It's their fault for having a lousy system.

I have had a mistake in my favor of data units clawed back something like a year after it happened. I have never heard of them clawing back service date mistakes.

2020 is a leap year, that is why the day is off.
As always, keep an eye on your balance and due date.
You never know if or when TracFone will figure out that a mistake was made.

Tracfone defines a year as 365 days. With 2020 being a leap year, your new end day is off by one day.

I didn't even think about it being a leap year. I'm very happy that I have two more years of service. I don't have to add texts or data very often so it's the most affordable plan for me.

Did you buy the texts and days from the TF site?

The $49 extra year of service is only found on the TF site.

Yes, I did. I haven't found the text add-on anywhere else but, since I needed the year add-on, I would have bought it there even if I could find it somewhere else.

Anyone else happen to experience this windfall?
Unlike many TF Inc. Subs in recent weeks and now months, TF Inc. not showing much love to their TF service customers.

    Me too.

I still had my first Android smartphone. Inactive. Had transferred all my time etc. to a newer Android. 1st phone sat dormant for a year or longer. An old timer in town had no cell phone. So I purchased a 19.95 card at the dollar store.
Reactivated old phone and there it was. A lottery winner. Nine months later I checked that given phone for minutes, etc. It's all there. Minus the few minutes that old timer actually made/received a few calls.

You win some. You lose some.
