It's technically fully compatible but you'll run into issues if it's not Verizon certified such as lack of VoLTE which is major.

I'd look to see if it's Verizon certified otherwise pass on it. Beyond VoLTE not functioning total wireless won't active a new sim for it and will say it's incompatible.

Verizon sold Sonim XP5, so who knows, maybe XP8 is certified too.
Only using the IEMI checker is sure.

Would A Sonim XP8 Work On Total Wireless?

I emailed Sonim and got the definitive answer.

    "Dear James,

At this time the Sonim XP8 has not been released for use with the Verizon Network. The XP8 is currently available through either AT&T or Sprint in the United States. Until Verizon puts the device through testing and certification for the Verizon Network it will be unavailable to Verizon customers.

    Thanks and Regards,

That's interesting. But FYI, the disclaimer to their email sounds like they didn't want this shared publicly...

The definitive answer is whether the phone is allowed on the Verizon white list. It can have all the necessary bands but unless Verizon allows it(and if you have to ask, the answer is probably no) it will not work correctly.

Possibly, but I always thought of those as pretty much a standard disclaimer. When you look at the actual message, I don't think they are releasing any trade secrets.
