So, overages are not free. FP will ding your top-up credit.
Which makes perfect sense. Thinking overages would be free if top-up is disabled makes zero sense. If you have top-credit, then once you consume your quota it should use top-up credit for excess usage. Once that is not available you data should stop if you have top-up disabled and therefore no more credit can be automatically obtained by FP. That's how it would work in an ideal world. Practically since there are multiple companies at work and consumption is not notified in real time, I can see being cut off early or getting some overage for free depending on how it's been implemented.

I did create a second account, but I don't know if I could have just added it to one of my existing accounts.

The 12-month sim cards can be added as another "device" to an existing account.

I actually had FP support recommend creating a separate account when I had trouble activating an annual SIM. It didn't help... There was something wrong with that one. When I returned it and bought a different one, the second one activated just fine on my existing account.

For those who added the annual or 3-mo SIM card to an existing account, do you have a free SIM card (added earlier) and credit card info in it? Does your existing account have a top-up credit (added earlier)?

If so, did you ever go beyond 1Gb in any month? What happened? Did you get overages charged to your credit card or top-up credit? Did your annual SIM card get suspended but did the data allotment renew the following month?

Although they are on one account, billing information and top up credit appear to be separate. Two screenshots from annual SIM and one from free SIM.

Thanks, aaopt. It’s good to know the existing credit/credit card don’t get shared with the new annual SIM card.
