    Yep. Last week was California.

Those T-Mobile engineers are amazing. Got to give them credit for building us an awesome network.

Is the Iowa upgrade part of TMobile's recent acquisition?

TheRealDanny, what is done by T-Mobile in a typical "mid-band LTE capacity upgrade"? The linked article didn't give much info.

I'm sure it's probably been discussed previously, but I didn't catch it...

I'm under the suspicion that the 'midband LTE capacity upgrade' is converting 'more' 2G/3G 1900 to LTE 1900 sites.
In my area - one site near me was upgraded. Prior to its upgrade - handoffs were ugly due to the amount of sites in my area.

You guys do know that despite your city being on the list it does not mean that EVERY tower in your city was upgraded right? It could mean as little as just 1 tower was upgraded in given city and T-Mobile just claims the upgrade as completed in given spot.

That is correct. In my area - its taken ~ 1 year to upgrade the majority of the sites. Cell Mapper and active contributors help show which sites have been updated.

Most of the time ... yes. I did have ~ 6 months of issues where 4 of the sites 'nearby' (up to 2 miles away) were upgraded, and the one that is 1/4 mile was not. In general, it wasn't a problem until T-Mobile had the tuning done - which typically now prefers band 2 over 4 and 12. This became an issue, as band 2 LTE wasn't active on my closest site, and band 2 would hand off to another site at -114dBm to -120dBm, instead of connecting on band 4 or 12 with -70dBm and having usable service. This did happen across a handful of sites before band 2 LTE was enabled in my area.

This is interesting. They've been upgrading a tower near me with band 2. A few weeks ago, when I'd access engineering mode on my LG V30, I'd see 20MHz of band 4, and 5MHz of band 12. Now that band 2 is active, all I see is 10MHz of band 2, and 5MHz of band 12. Not sure why I'm not seeing band 4 any more. I thought this phone was capable of CA all 3 of these together.
