Weird info on a FreedomPop account - 500 MB free on LTE SIM?

I warned someone with a free FreedomPop account that they wouldn't be getting 700MB a month anymore due to the friends data cutback, and they showed me this from their account:

When they log in it says:

    DATA USED
    9%
91.14 MB / 1000.00 MB of mobile data

    6 MONTHS
    BILLING DAYS LEFT

Now I double checked. They have a LTE SIM, not a Sprint device. They have no plan or service subscribed.

The plan says "Basic 200 Semi-Annual, $0.00 per month. Talk 200 Text 200 Data 500"

So they have 500 MB for the basic plan plus 500 for friends.

I wasn't aware that there was a 500MB free plan on the LTE SIM, but it seems there is such a thing. Is that just a glitch? I thought they were just 200 MB.

If it's not a glitch then they would still have 550 after the friends cut which is enough.

Were any FP 100% free plans "Basic 200 Semi-Annual"? I thought semi-annual plans were all paid plans.

Or maybe it's a mistake or fluke like was mentioned at https://www.reddit.com/r/freedompop/...lan_has_500mb/?

I have these 500 MB for free all the time without friends on my two AT&T 4G LTE FP SIM cards.

    Basic LTE 200

I don't remember anything about AT&T LTE SIMs with 500MB/mo included for free. I guess I missed out on those!

Those that have them are lucky! Be happy!

A theory to possibly explain this:

It could be that, whether they know it or not, they have a device which is compatible with Sprint, as many flagship devices sold in the US are (iPhones, Galaxy S8, etc.). They ordered an LTE SIM, but during activation, rather than entering the SIM's ICCID, they entered the device's MEID (the activation page asks for one or the other). Doing the latter they would, as far as I know, be signing up for the Sprint service, which includes 500MB. So maybe they think they're using an AT&T SIM when they're actually using Sprint?

If the operator shows only as "FreedomPop", the way to test would be to install an app like Network Cell Info Lite (Android) and look at the MCC and MNC codes. Then look on http://mcc-mnc.com/ for the carrier linked to that code combination. MCC code will be 310 (for the US).

I have an LTE sim that is an "upgrade" from a global sim. I waited until after the threatened cutoff/charges before upgrading. It has been 1000mb since. Now, 29 days remaining on cycle.
