    Netgear Nighthawk warranty

    At&t is now replacing 1st Gen with 2nd Gen on replacements. Currently have a charging issue with my first gen.

    How can you tell which generation you have and what exact issues does gen 1 have? Ty

    MR1100-2A1NAS - Second Gen (B14 sticker under battery) Band 14 enabled.


    No real issues with the netgear besides IP passthrough not working and the wifi being slow vs hardwired.

    i bought the netgear v1 from ebay, there should be warranty tie with it right ?

    It's the usual Netgear issue of releasing lame hardware to the public, with the plan to 'fix' it once they already have sold the majority of their units. I swore off Netgear after the MP101 network streamer in the early 2000's. Nearly 20 years later and this company somehow is still in business.

    I bought it refurbished unlocked and it seems to work fine as a portable hotspot. I assume this ip issue has to do with hooking it up to a router which is something i want to do in the dominican republic this winter.

    I am still unsure of the problem but would it hinder its use hooked up to a router and using a security camera system? I would hate to take it overseas and not be able to use it.

    Mine was replaced due to a replacement battery that wouldn't charge fully. First battery couldn't keep up the charge while in use.

    First thoughts by the warranty department was to send me to Netgear. I explained that I wouldn't wait 2-3 weeks for them to replace the device. I was polite and they checked their inventory and saw that there were some replacement devices available. It's probably a brand new one as the 2nd gen has been only out a couple of months.
