Site access a little rough last five days or so?

I access HoFo mainly through the mobile website.

It seems like it's been a little balky or slow, even loading the initial Home page before attempting login. I've even had database errors appear a few times.

Haven't seen any posted alerts from other users in this area of the forum so I thought I'd let you know what I've been seeing.

Thanks for maintaining a great place to hang!

I've not seen this myself but thanks for the heads-up.

I've been getting Database Error since last week when I try to browse to the main forums page from a Windows PC and Chrome. Works fine from Tapatalk and if I open links to posts directly, e.g. from HoFo Facebook page.

If you see it again can you please take a screenshot or copy and paste the text of the error here? This will help our server folks troubleshoot if the issue persists.

    Another anomaly I'm seeing:

When accessing via mobile website (my norm, but not this post), I usually start on the .../forums.php page and log on there. And when going into the sub-forums, I'm still logged in.

Not anymore! I log in where I normally do, but any further pages in and I have to log in again to post or whatever. I haven't tested out all the possible permutations of when I need or don't need additional logins, but this is strangely only happening on one device. On another device with the same browser (Naked) it doesn't occur!

And sort of related, this morning, using a PC, I logged on, then decided to do a search via Google pointing back to HoFo, that opened (expectedly) another tab in my browser (Opera). Once this additional page of HoFo was open I would normally expect my logon to be carried over and active, but it wasn't, and I had to log on there again. Strange!

Maybe this has something to do with server LDAP functions (?).

Thought you'd like to know, Frail (or pass to the server guys).

Thanks for your long time attention to the site upkeep!

Sure, I will post it if I see it again. It's been working fine the last few days, although a bit slower than usual.

    Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (Android; Opera Mini/7.6.40234/107.71; U; en) Presto/2.12.423 Version/12.16)

Last hour or so nothing but Database Error when trying to access the home page.

Couldn't log in, so tried the old wap site using Opera Mini v7.6.4, which got me in to post this.

    Strange for sure.

I wonder what's going on, the Tapatalk site was down for about an hour. It's finally back now though.

Here is a screenshot of the error when trying to browse the main forums page. Accessing subforums or posts directly is working.

    I just got it now:

    Name: Capture.jpg
Views: 239
Size: 22.0 KB

I've been seeing this a lot over the past two weeks. Also another error message indicating the host is up but site is down or something like that. If I see it again I'll grab it.

Also, sometimes when you make a post it will freeze and then make multiple same posts. Or when you try to edit you can't do it for like 15-20 minutes and it just hangs and then finally.

There are hour long periods when the site is very difficult to navigate or do things. I usually use Firefox.

    Yeah, that's exactly what appears.

In fact, just before my access to post this, I was on and attempted to log out, and saw that page.

Took a few minutes, then I was able to log out and back in to make this post.

I was able to view the other error page that I've seen in the past. I couldn't get a screenshot of it because it was very fleeting but I saw the error message. It stated error 504.

This happened when I was trying to edit a post and it hung for 3-5 minutes or so, twice. This was around 4:30 am est.

I've been getting the "Database Error" page on a regular basis for the last week.
