Simple Choice Prepaid Mobile Internet Unl Data w/ 2GB 4G LTE for $10/mo. (no voice or text).

Anyone knows this plan can be used with phone (not tablet)?
I have legacy PAYGO account. If I switch to this plan, do I lose my phone number?

Yes it will work in a phone.

You probably have to ask a rep about if you can retain your phone number.

But why not create a new plan/account for the data plan and port your existing number to Google voice or some other free service?

A dual SIM phone could work for you.

Would this work in a 3G hotspot (getting 2GB of 3G data)? Or does it require a 4G LTE device?

It will work as long as it has T-mobile compatible frequency bands.

Does streaming from Google Music count against the 2GB? What about Youtube video? No that Google will transition GMusic to Youtube Music, will that caount against the 2G? Just looking for a cheap plan for a phone to leave in the car for streaming GMusic and the occasion mapping data.

Is this $10/month 2GB working in Canada?
Plan to travel to Canada for 1 week, thinking to buy 1 month as one time use.

So I'm trying it out. How do you check useage? The TMobile app says "Sorry we aren't ready for you yet" And the web account says I'm not authorized to view the account.

The app doesn't work for me either. It took a day for me to see the web account.

You can dial #932# <send>. It will display the bytes used.

Also, on the web account it only works on data. If you are connected to WiFi, it won't work. Quirky.

#932# doesn't work for me. I have my sim in a metro by T-Mobile Moto E5. I use the web account to check mine over Wi-Fi all the time. I like the Samsung browser and only use it, don't know if that matters.

    Sorry bro.

Works for me. I'm using the same phone (Moto e5).

You have to use the phone's native dialer. When the USSD coded runs, it might give you some sort of error message, but the number at the end of the message is the bytes used.

Logging into my.tmobile used to work over WiFi for me but now only works when I am on data. I've been on this plan for over three years.
