Telus killing per per use prepaid.

Just got a message on my Telus prepaid that Telus is forcing everyone on monthly rate plan. As of August 26, I'm been forced onto $10 monthly rate plan.

I thought negative billing was illegal in Ontario?

The biggest joke is that they are increasing per minute rate from current $0.15 to $0.60!!!
SMS rate stays at $0.50!!! Long distance within Canada is whopping $1.20!!! US long distance goes from $0 to $1.20!!!! $2048/1GB of data!!

The reason: "We also want to continue to be the leader in the prepaid space."

These rates apply if you exceed 500min/100 SMS included in $10 plan. And there is no way to actually check the usage easy way (USSD code).

I already have monthly add on that renews automatically.

    Negative billing is illegal

The loophole here is that it is a PREPAY plan

In other words; you do NOT have to accept the plan and can cancel instead

Course if you have a large credit balance this would be foolish....
    Koodo $40 Canada Wide + 8GB + 1000 Intl LD
    Public $120 Province Wide + 12GB - $6 Autopay - $12 Loyalty - $45 Refer = $19 per Month
    Freedom $35 ($37-BTS) North America Wide + 8GB + 1GB Roaming
