As the OP I have to agree, strongly, as to the resourcefulness of this forum! Even though it takes a bit of "digging' lately, I check here at least once a day. Thanx to all....

    Yes, that's the reason.

Read around a little more and you'll see.

    Use your browser for now.

I haven't been able to access Hofo on FF, IE or Vivaldi in almost a week. Keep getting stuck at Cloudflare bouncing balls verification.

Now finally got through on Vivaldi only. What gives?

I keep losing posts! Too often, after I compose a post, CloudFlare pops up when I submit it, the browser goes to a blank page, and the post is gone! I'm really getting sick of losing long posts after taking the time to compose them!

I now always save the text to a file prior to posting it because of this problem.

There's some interval of time that ticks off after you first login, then that's when CloudFlare does another check on you when attempting to load a different page. I've had many a long, thought out, (what I thought was) well-composed post ready to go, only to get the kibosh by CloudFlare.

I also try to remember to copy to the clipboard if I know I'm responding at any length. That is truly frustrating

The browser version is working better than the app version. I don't see images in the Android app anymore but they show up on the web version. But the app doesn't have the Cloud flare problem.

According to the group that manages our server, we're being crawled by multiple major search engine bots all at the same time and it's killing us. Not sure why, but it's being investigated. Some IPs have already been blocked but it hasn't made much of a difference.

That's all I know right now.
That's not a bad thing, maybe look into your hosting company in upgrading your server, are you on a shared, dedicated, cloud?

The bot activity was way higher than what would be normally expected. We've actually been testing a new server setup for the past couple of weeks. We'll be making the switch in the near future.

Today is the first day I've noticed this (might not have checked much over the past few days), but I don't see the CloudFlare check anymore, and more concerning (for me), I can't get in to the WAP site anymore with old Opera Mini (wap.howardforums.com).

Previously the seeming reason for this hang was that old Opera Mini couldn't handle the changing dynamic with the CloudFlare check, and would just error out. But now that the check has apparently been ended (at least the way it had been handled) I expected access to the WAP site URL to free up. But maybe this is not to be.

Is there any official word on this? I'd hate to see it go.

We turned off the CloudFlare browser check several days ago.

The WAP site has been unsupported for years, as the developer of the WAP solution discontinued development. It's an older protocol that has been superseded by more modern standards. That it continued to work until now is just luck. The forum software has a mobile theme, and we have a custom Tapatalk app to support mobile access.
