These posts just confuse people and make the whole process unnecessarily complicated.

Follow the original instructions. Cancel whatever lines you ordered online and return the phones.

Go to a Koodo retail location and activate a new line with an in-market plan and get a phone on Tab if you want.

Go home, register on Self Serve and change number to QC. Wait for the next billing cycle (4-9 days) and change plan to QC.

Port in your number the next day.

    Done.

Thanks for the info. my friend. Is this been consistent as the Wind i35/TB50/MB50? As in once you're on pretty much no one is getting kicked out unless they do something to get noticed?

Can anyone confirm if this loophole is dead? As per a previous post, is it true people are having trouble porting back to their local number? (Koodo forces a call back and a switch to an in-market plan)

If someone could confirm it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

It still works. When you want to change the number to a Quebec one go into your mobile services in self serve and pick transfer your number. This will take you to the old interface where you will instead change the number to a QC on without calling Koodo.

This will only not work if you do it online, you have to start the process at the store level, not online.

Ok thanks - but what happens after you need to port back to your local number in Ontario? can you still maintain the QC plan but with ontario number?

what do you mean? what difference does that make? If you have the Quebec number and the QC plan, how does the system differentiate if you initiated the process online vs in-store?

Sorry I am just trying to understand.

    thanks

correct, once you have the plan, wait 24 hours (so you do not get double billed) And then port your number. Voila! Just did one yesterday for my daughter's Boyfriend.

hmm...ok...so I did initiate the process online. I will probably receive the SIM with a quebec number to begin with....if it doesn't work I will cancel and try again I guess.

Wow, been a looong time since I've been on HoFo.

Anyway, I got an iPhone X today with the idea of changing to the $56 10 GB plan. I was considering paying someone on kijiji to do it, but decided to look into if it was something I could do. I went through this thread, and the 114 page thread.

I have my Self Serve setup and just went to switch to a QC number, but the route I went is asking for a Koodo call back to get a number from another province. I would assume going in store would not get me a QC number without an appropriate ID. Any ideas?
