    Microphone issue on Note 8

Im going to a Samsung authorized center to have my microphone replaced tomorrow. Has anyone else had an issue with their microphone? Everytime I call someone they keep saying my voice is muffled. When I call from a different phone they say it's fine.

Did you try with the background noise setting on and off? Also did you try with LTE on and off?

Galaxy S9+ here. I get the "voice is muffled" complaint on and off. It seems to me that if I switch to speakerphone after hearing the complaint, the problem goes away.

And it never happens when using Bluetooth.

So that tells me it's not the VoLTE setting, like so many think. (And on Galaxy S9 series, we can't turn that off.)

To me, that leaves something specific to when the microphone is being used--and right off the top of my head, it's either the physical microphone or the noise cancelling feature that's used only when not using speakerphone.

I went In to the Ubreakifix authorized store and they could not replicate my problem. This is very frustrating. They will not replace the microphone. I dont have a deep voice and I have had 50 different cell phones over the years and never had an issue. Samsung gets an F for not being able to help me with my problem. The next step if I choose to go through with it is mail in my phone and wait 11 business days. ...and they will not send a loaner phone. 😣

my friend uses a samsung and i always tell her that her voice always cuts out... same with my niece, she uses a samsung and her voice does cut off, we already did the background trick.. and nothing. I think is the way they do their IP67 or IP68 on their microphones, not too smart.

Try searching settings for noise cancellation or sound.

I could not find any documentation supporting that this feature exists.

As for turning off LTE try something like this. I think the last part will vary but in any case you want the option that does not have LTE in it.

    Turning 4G on or off.
    On the homescreen, tap Apps.
    Tap Settings.
    Tap More networks.
    Tap Mobile networks.
    Tap Network mode.
If you want to use 4G, make sure LTE/WCDMA/GSM is enabled. If you just want to connect to our 3G network, make sure WCDMA/GSM is enabled.

I agree! I had the same issue. Service center replaced the microphone and confirmed that it was manufacturer defect.
