TruPhone, iPhone XR/XS, and iPhone eSim

I notice that TruPhone is one of the early adopters of iPhone XR/XS dual-sim technology.

That is great news. I hope they extend the adoption to the US.

I would use Truphone with the iPhone eSim, use the other sim with T-Mobile's $10 / 2GB data plan, and forward my Google Voice calls to my TruPhone number.

I don't need a lot of data because I am around Wifi 95% of the time.

Whoooppeeee ... Bring it on iPhone .... I wonder why a lot of companies have not adopted the Pixel 2's eSim.

I may end up selling my Pixel 2XL because it is too bulky for my hand.

The dual SIM setup may be an E-sim and a slot, in which case you may need the E-sim to be programmed by a Big Four carrier. I don't know if MVNO's will work.

The 2 nice features of the new iPhone that seem nice to me is the possibility, if supported, of having 2 phone lines on a single phone. Wonder how long it will take to get MVNO support for prepaid. The other is the addition of B14 and B71.

But on ATT, for me, this isn't enough of a change yet for me to replace working phones.
iPhone X on ATT Prepaid. Backup iPhone 7+ on inexpensive Verizon MVNO plan. Hopefully covers me in the continental US for phone usage. Cheaper than a single unlimited plan on ATT or Verizon or T-Mobile.

Unfortunately, the 64-bit google voice iOS app does not have Click2Call, so this would be of limited use

How is eSim any different from the old days of CDMA/evdo? I have to call in every time I want to switch phones? How would you like it if all future phones went eSim only with no physical SIM slot? Sounds like a scam to prevent carrier jumping.
