Thinking of switching back to Cricket

My wife and I are currently on AT&T Post paid. We did this to get BOGO iPhones a couple of years ago. The phones are paid off now, and I'd like to reduce our monthly bill. The only real problem we had before with Cricket was not getting SMS/MMS from Verizon users. iMessage and other data-dependent services obviously worked fine, so we got messages from most people, but some Android users could not text us. My question is whether this is still a problem, or has Cricket found a fix in the past couple of years?

    Thanks,
    Ted

Yes, this issue was fixed with the newer SIM cards. I experienced the same text problems during this time as well.

I had the same exact issue a couple of years ago with Cricket and not getting texts from Verizon users. I ported out to Gophone & the issue was resolved. I believe, as 12thman stated, that the issue was resolved when Cricket issued new SIM cards about a year ago which moved everyone from third party servers to in house AT&T servers. But I haven't used Cricket myself since that happened so I cannot say for certain.
