Do you guys find you need unlimited? Mostly for video and audio streaming or other things?
I stream a lot of video, use data intensive apps and don’t use WiFi very often, except at home. Everywhere else, I’m on LTE. For me, the answer is yes.

To add, my 6-month average usage is approximately 138 GB.

Nice speed! May I ask where at in Troy you are seeing these speeds? I am in the Auburn Hills area and hoping VZW creeps a little further north!

Meijers parking lot on Coolidge between 14 and 15 mile. There are a handful of 5G nodes in the area. Funny there are no 5G nodes in the heart of Troy that I've seen. There are a number of VZ small cells but no 5G.

Hey guys....let's see some tests from NYC!!

This was in Southfield, MI yesterday on the fringe of 5G service. There were only 2 CC's active at the time.

Surprised Service Mode isn't showing that but I'm almost positive each channel is 100 MHz. This test was a different node in Troy and 4CC (400 MHz total) was active:

I'm surprised as well. Thanks for that info!

Based on your experience, how bad is signal attenuation if there are different types of obstructions between the phone and the cellular antenna?

For example, if you turn around and put your body in between, what's the difference in speeds?

How about windows, or being inside a car?

The device will run decent speeds (400 Mbps) through glass close to the node but is very touchy inside the vehicle. Sitting in a parking lot with the windows down and holding the phone towards the inside the vehicle (body in between the phone and the site) it will still run up arond 1 Gb but noticed it instintly drops to 4G when I set the phone on my leg. Trees definitely impact the signal as well which causes drops to 4G

From my testing with 5G so far, Verizon seems to have the sites tweaked pretty decent considering the limited number of nodes in the test areas. Given the characteristics of mmWave, it's going to be a challenge going forward but should greatly improve capacity in the urban areas and coverage will only get better. These nodes I've tested aren't really in a downtown environment and there are several more that aren't active yet further north out of the detroit area. These are areas where LAA isn't even really deployed yet which is kinda surprising.
