Umm, if you had read my two posts you would see that those speeds were WIFI — not cellular.

The point I was making is that on the DL, at least, the 5G mmWave speeds are creaming home WiFi by 4 fold.

Found some 5G back home in LA. Coverage isn't great (to be expected) but the speeds are great.

How are they progressing with density since last year ?

I’m not too sure since the S20 + is my first 5G phone and I’ve been in Santa Cruz for most of the year due to school, so I was able to test UWB due to the coverage map and being home because of my campus moving to online classes. Density has seemed a bit better. I still have a known dead zone next to a corporate store in Culver City. I’ll probably put in another network ticket for it once CS call volume drops. But speeds have been a bit faster on LTE and I’ve definitely seen more band 5. I’m looking out for the leased Dish spectrum though. AT&T is still faster through out the day in my part of LA and they’ve been adding small cells and density so I’d say AT&T will be the carrier to beat in LA by next year. VZW isn’t far behind, they could use some more midband, but they have lots of small cells and newer macros that help out in the mean time.

Looks like the upload on 5G is helping too! That’s incredible, especially with the signal strength.

So much for a raindrop blocking mmW signal . Improvements for the technology are on the way. In a few years the nay sayers won’t be laughing about it anymore

Yeah I think the rest of the industry has greatly underestimated millimeter wave… it’s still no excuse though Verizon needs more mid band spectrum. The economics of deploying millimeterwave are not going to work everywhere obviously. 3.5GHz band should be an all in for Verizon.

That’s their missing piece and their most important missing piece ! They have plenty of mmW until 6G.

Only confirmation of nodes which have been and being deployed here are by AT&T. I’m praying Verizon deploys 5g here because I hate all of you for your fast speeds

Man I really hope Verizon gets their head in the game and ditches the stupid UWB icon.
