How to fix white vertical lines showing on LG phone?

How to fix white vertical lines showing on LG phone?
    ================================================== ==

Thanks for replies to my threads.

I have LG tribute HD 4G LTE with Android. It worked good but White Vertical Lines showing up.

I took the battery out an put it back after a while. It did not fix the issue.

This phone did not expose to water.

The bad screens display vertical lines with a white background. Has anyone else had this problem?

Any idea to fix this ?

    Thanks for helping.

I have the same LG tribute HD too but mine does not have any problems.

Make sure you are not putting any pressure on the phone like might be caused by a selfie stick.

I assume this did not start after you rooted the phone and changed the rom but I don't think that would cause it anyway.

A screen with lines sounds like it could be a hardware problem.

I would backup all your personal data if you have any on the phone because the screen might go out at anytime.

After you backup your data then I would do a factory reset and see if that fixes the problem. Test before installing any new apps.

If the factory reset does not fix the problem I would look for a new phone.

You might be able to still use it but if it continues to have lines on the screen it could go out completely at anytime.

Thanks for reviewing my thread and posting some suggestion.

I like this phone. I picked up in box store as unlocked one (thru sprint loophole, awhile ago)

How do I make sure this issue was not caused by any pressure, you describe?

Are there any way to release such pressure?
If I press power on button, the screen with white lines comes and screen goes black. I am not able to get to dial pad to do unlock.

What are the steps to try ?

    Thanks for sharing.

My phone is from boost and is not unlocked and only cost $20 on sale.

When I put my phone in a selfie stick it caused my screen to have a distorted image. As long as your phone is not in a selfie stick is all I was talking about. This does not sound like your problem but I just thought I would mention it.

The link below shows how to do a factory reset. If your screen goes black you might not be able to try a factory reset because you might not be able to see what is on the screen.

Perform a hardware factory reset - LG Tribute HD

I would guess your phone has a hardware problem and the factory reset might not help.

If your phone is still on warranty you can try and get it fixed from the manufacturer.

    Thanks for your reply.

It looks like yours on same deal as mine. Where did you buy it? How long does warranty last ?

Are there any other community to help with hardware issue on LG Tribute?

Is there any mechanism to do factory re-set, by connecting the smart phone to computer?

I did find the following on internet.

bad screens display vertical lines with a white background

I am not able to find the items shown in the picture. Is it necessary to remove the screen to get there?

    Thanks for sharing.

I think I got mine black friday from bestbuy.com. My phone is locked to boost mobile.

Locked phones are normally cheaper. I often see new locked phones on the boost mobile website for around $40.

If you can't see the screen I don't know of anyway to try the factory reset.

It sounds like your phone has a hardware problem. If your phone has a hardware problem the factory reset won't help anyway.

I think most warranties are for 1 year but it should say on the paperwork you got with your phone or you can check the manufacturers website.

If the phone is not on warranty it likely is cheaper to just buy a new phone rather than trying to fix it. I would not try to fix a phone by taking it apart.
