They use AT&T now. The changed happened on Jan 1 2017...

Speeds are ok, I see about 25-40 down and 10-15 up...

Latency is high, however, as you are routed to globalives POI.
Plus your IP address shows Canadian while you are using cellular...

    Yes, sorry...

I see under 100kbps when throttled too...

That's good enough for notifications and e-mails, as well as Waze to work without issue. But anything that requires any measure of data will either be painful or outright fail.

I am pretty sure I will blow through the 1GB so we shall see what happens after the fact
    Hopefully throttle not too bad

If throttle is too bad Koodo allows roaming for $8 per day which would tide me over

Yes, it only gives you an extra 1gig for 5 days...

The $8 per day may work better if you're using more for longer...

I typically use about 1.5gigs a month using email and Waze every day in the states...

Last month I burned through my 2400minutes. That was awkward...

Well first thing when I crossed border was I got slammed by a bunch of scary text messages
All giving me in depth gory details about how much each plan costs for overages etc (I admit it made me a little nervous since I was under impression I had unlimited, but after checking billing tonight I think the texts are simply trying to scare you into buying more data)

I had 1GB included in my plan and I used 1.6GB throughout the week

I was on AT&T the entire time (as others mentioned above)

I did not run any actual speed tests but quite frankly I did not even notice any throttle at all (if it was ever applied... as I have my doubts)
(14th I exceeded my data and 16th I spent most of the day driving so really only used heavy on Thurs but I was easily able to play games and stream video no issue at all)

Koodo SIM was never even inserted into my phone since the Freedom / AT&T worked fine
