I’m seeing a promo plan on the site:
    2 for 80
    3 for 100
(With prime and 15gb of hotspot)

Is this new? Unfortunately, a port in is required on at least one line.

I love Metro...but this is pretty enticing from ATT Prepaid: https://www.att.com/prepaid/walmart-...A#legal-footer

A 4-line plan is supposedly $120 with 25GB each line.

    Is it really enticing though?

I'm on the Metro 4 lines for $120 plan. 4 for $120 on AT&T (even though it is limited to 25GB per line) seems like a good deal to me.

    Metro 4 for $100 doesn't support tethering.

Nice. I'm on the T-Mo 4 lines for $100 plan which includes tethering and Netflix. Support our troops and join a family plan!

The plan doesnt support the troops, its for military personnel and their familes. The plan requires the main account holder to be either active or discharged/retired military. It is a good deal for military and their familes, its likely easier for most civillians to get the 55+ plan than the military plan, as tmobile will want to see some sort of proof of being a service member, such as your earnings statements, or your DD214.

You misunderstood my post. "Support our troops" and join the "family plan" of a friend or family member in the military and you both save. Win/win.

The 55+ plan isn't near the same deal.

Its not the same deal, but its generally easier for civillians to get as im sure most civillians have easier access to someone over 55, than to a service member. Unless that person has a service member in their family, or a close friend, but even close friend would be a stretch, id never open a family plan and let my buddies all hop on so they save a few bucks, but thats me, but, unless they know either one of those, they cant get the plan.

Many military people are broke and welcome the opportunity to lower their own costs by adding lines. Also if you look around it appears it’s trivial to provide T-Mobile the required “proof” to qualify...

As far as broke, depends. A lot of the older generation yes, the newer generation, not so much. Active duty pay isnt that great, but, a lot of us got smart,we took the education and experience, and got out young enough to do something with ourselves. I can only speak for me personally, i did 4 years active, 4 years inactive and got out. I do pretty well for myself in life. Also, they are eligibile for the plan on their own, they dont really need a mooching friend wanting to use their service time in order to "lower their costs", they can lower their costs on their own and sign up for the plan.

If by trivial you mean they ask to see either your earnings statements or DD214 then you are correct. If you mean theyll just take your word for it if you lie and say you served, not sure they will do that.

Look on Reddit... apparently easy to fake no questions asked. YMMV.
