Does Tm charge, yet, for sim card changes?

Most here are probably not aware(lucky you)of a controversy being discussed on the metro pcs forum that metro has begun charging for any sim card change.

What is the current Tm policy and can sims simply be moved from phone to phone?

Careful, don't give them any ideas........

I suspect it is different from the MVNO side vs. the actual carrier.
Don't make me turn this car around.....

The problem is that it's difficult, tho not impossible, to get a T-Mobile SIM without paying $25.

No charge yet for moving a sim card from phone to phone, but the way things are going with this company I wouldn't be surprised if they started to.

You're probably right, but my guess is this scheme or whatever has always been in every carriers wish list and metro is either an experiment to see how it goes over or just the beginning of things to come. This same thing has occurred in many businesses, Banks for example made a good percentage of their profits from overdraft charges, another cost free profit center.

Thanks for the reply, but I didn't phrase my question accurately. Metro now charges customers who simply need/want to move their current Sim card from one handset to another. I know this sounds idiotic, but check out the thread on the metro forum.

I think it's an awful policy though.

I know it's prepaid but still makes me wonder what they are thinking

T-Mobile doesn't tie the sim to the IMEI, so you don't need to do anything other than pull your sim out and put it in another phone. You don't have to call, go online or anything, so they could hardly charge for that. Metro has always had it so that the sim only works with one IMEI. Let's hope that stays a metro thing.

I was responding to a statement by DRNewcomb so maybe you should have looked at who I quoted before making assumptions on my comprehension level.

I'm with T-Mobile prepaid. I get a free phone every few months when I buy $100 worth of airtime credit and get a free phone. Included with the phone is a SIM card. The SIM cards go into a drawer somewhere unused.

This isn't the Metro forum Plane. You guys are already discussing this here; https://www.howardforums.com/showthr...s-will-cost-15

Turns out I was dragging the thread OT but that's one of the ways to get a replacement SIM without paying $25.
