And when freeup goes away, someone else will come in to take their place.... Ringplus, freedompoop, freeup, __________ . Just a matter of time. For now I enjoy the 100-200 minutes a month i use for free in a flip phone. Great when I'm out and don't want to be bothered with email or texts but want to be reachable. Only caveat is I have a number from 10 states away (montana) so it confuses some when I call them.

Where/How do I get SIM card for FREE , FREEUP plan?

The site say SIM FREE but shipping $5.00. Does it make sense to pay $5.00 for shipping of SIM?

I did not see 1.99 deal in their site. Did it change ?

    Thanks for sharing.

That hasn't changed since I got my FreeUP SIM earlier this year. $5 seemed like a small price to pay for ongoing free calling and texting.

Same here, I usually check in every week or so just to be sure as FREE is hard to beat

I find that FREE plan shows only 250 Minutes now.

I tried to order SIM, but I am getting HTTP error. It is easing my name and throw invalid name error. It is same, when I add mu CC info to my account as well.

Are there any issues with FreeUP site ? What is their CS phone # to chat ?

    Thanks for guidance.

Anyone use this for occasional / annual travel to keep your number? That is, sign up for the free plan, to keep your number active while away from the US. Before traveling to the US, move to a paid plan. After you leave the US, go back to free plan, so you still have your number for the next trip.
    Any issues with this idea?

That will work, at least for now. A user on Nth Circle Forum reported that it's possible to change from a paid plan back to the free plan. Just be aware that it may not always remain so. The pricing on the paid plans is also competitive for unlimited talk/text + data on AT&T.

Anyone figure out how to disable conditional call forwarding with freeup?

#004# code doesn't seem to work, neither does disabling the option from the dialer (smartphone).

Freeup # is one of my gv forwarding numbers and when the phone is off/airplane mode causes issues as the freeup vm catches the call right away.

Resetting to default =! disabling it entirely. I contacted their customer service who disabled it after a few hours. Lets hope it sticks this time. I remember doing this a few months ago.

Should start with 2 # signs in front of the 004 like this: ##004#

I was able to turn off VM on my FreeUp line by dialing #004# - BUT it didn't work in my Android phone. I got an error from the dialer. I switched the SIM to a flip phone and ran the code, then switched it back to my smartphone.

Now calls get a message saying "The person you are trying to reach is not available" if I don't answer. Fortunately Google Voice does not consider this an answer and my other forwarding lines will still ring.
