I have project fi. I'm not really happy with it but it's cheap.

I ordered the 64 GB version of the Moto X4 for $199. Hard to pass up on since it is the Android One version and likely to get Android Pie OS.

The G6 is a great option for $99.

But do you have to use Fi ?

On Slickdeals it seemed to say you needed today for one month or it was list price ,
    Plu probably a credit check....

This was 2 days ago , maybe they changed it....

You have to sign up for Project Fi and use that phone in order to get the discount. You don't have to keep it active long, but you just can't get one at that price.

You need to activate on Fi or you will be charged full price. According to the terms there's no minimum usage required so you could active one day and cancel the next. I don't know if Fi prorates partial months but it's only $20 a month plus 1¢/MB so even if you have to eat the $20 it's still a good deal.

I am happy with Project Fi and with my Moto X4. If a person wishes to try Fi, the X4 takes great photos in a range of conditions and works well with the Fi features including WiFi calling and VoLTE.

You can buy the phone outright, just port in and then later port out and you have an unlocked phone at half price. Or, you can buy it outright, not activate it and miss any promos and pay double for it. I’m sure Google Fi won’t mind at all.

Well, $99 for a G6 isn’t bad or the Moto X4 for $149. Now, I’m a cheapskate and usually buy phones one or two models behind the latest “gotta have” phone. Save a boatload of money that way.

I chatted with them on their chat box.

What I understood was that I could buy the LG G7thinq for $349 and I have to activate it within 30 days from received.
Once I activate this phone with them I will be paying their minimum $20 for call and text for the first month.
You don't have to use any of their data to avoid any charges and you can cancel after you activate the phone and it would have only cost you $20 for the first month. Not sure if they prorate this either and not sure if you have to make 1 call or no calls at all other than just activating the phone.

Basically you can get a new number with them and get an LG G7 for $349+$20 plus taxes, which for me would come to around around $400 and I can use the phone right away with MetroPcs once I receive it.
I am thinking of buying one for me and one for my girl friend unless you guys think an LG G7 for $400 total is not a good deal and there are better deals to be had for better phones? I am all ears if you have any better suggestions for $400 max including taxes. thanks

When I go to that link I see the LG G7 ThinQ for $549 with activation. $349 would be $400 off list which would be amazing.

I just bought one before this and signed up for the service to receive the $200 service credit plus I've found that they enabled Google Voice like spam controls for the service recently though I don't see any posts here for it.

I think you need to keep the service active for at least 75-120 days or so or they will charge you the full amount on the phone.
