LG K20 (ATT) work with Tracfone (when unlocked)?

My sister got an LG K20 with ATT (Pre-paid plan) and she's just not using their expensive plan. I want her to unlock the phone and go with Tracfone, or if not Tracfone, some other GSM compatible service. Has anyone had experience iwth the LG K20 and should it work with other MVNOs out there? Thanks in advance.

I don't know about the K20 in particular, but quite a few of us in this forum use AT&T Prepaid phones (most commonly the LG Phoenix 2 K371) with TF/AT&T. The AT&T Prepaid Android phones typically can be used with a TF/AT&T BYOP SIM without needing to be unlocked. If you want to use them with other non-AT&T carriers, they will need to be unlocked.

Thanks! This is reassuring! I'll pass this info along to my sister.

I helped a friend get onto using Consumer Cellular with an AT&T Prepaid version of the Huawei Ascend XT 2, so I'm pretty sure others will work on CC (AT&T) as well.

Wonder if there might be a difference in status because this phone has been on AT&T Prepaid? It can be unlocked if in service for 6+ months.

Is that the case for an brand new (straight out of the box) AT&T prepaid phone that has not been "aged"?

yes, as long as you use a tracfone AT&T sim.
now, if you wish to use the phone on T mobile then
the phone will need to be unlocked.
once the phone has been activated, you can try unlocking it
    via the AT&T unlock portal - https://www.att.com/deviceunlock/#/unlockstep1
