    iPhone 6s Plus in 2018

The iPhone 6s Plus on Metro is only $99 with port in. So I was wondering, is it still worth it to get one in 2018?

Got $99, heck yeah! It performs very well on iOS 12.

I am going to pick one up as a back up. The hardware is still solid. I have an SE and it is OK, but the tiny screen makes it a horrible experience to use for me, I would much rather use something like a Moto G5 as a backup than the SE. The nice thing about Apple phones is that all of their phones are designed as flagship type devices. You would have a hard time finding a Samsung S6 Edge or Plus brand new for $100. I actually own an S6 Edge, which was the Samsung flagship when the 6s was released. The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus have aged better, mostly because of the way Apple handles software updates.

The iPhone SE is my backup phone and it’s perfect for that. Performs the same as the 6s on iOS 12. Like new.

I just wish it was the 64GB version instead of the 32GB one.

So all together with tax I'm looking at $165 for the iPhone 6s Plus when I port in. That's not bad

A phone used when something is wrong with your primary phone.

Never understood buying a phone just to use as a backup. I just buy the backup when something goes wrong with my phone.

Well sometimes there's not a store handy with a good deal ready to go when your primary phone fails or when you drop and break it. Certainly it's not required that you have a backup device on the ready, but you might be able to see why others would do that.

And bad things never happen at a convenient time. I've tried to keep some kind of bu phone, sim, charger etc, especially when travelling, and have needed them occasionally and having something takes the stress off.

Exactly. To each his/her own, but when you need something, in this case, a phone setup, it’s better to have one/it in hand, ready to go rather than starting from scratch.

It’s a peace of mind insurance policy.
