LG V20 VS99520C-Finally got Oreo update

It took a long time! Finally got Android 8.0 on my Verizon phone. Been trying, occasionally, for over a year and today VZW Utility allowed the update. I hope no one asks how I like because I can't tell any difference-yet. It's just that I had to have it because it was out there. Even been researching Google Pixel's just to get OREO - still pretty expensive. Do all you with V20's have OREO?

LG was slow to release it. And Verizon tends to be last.

I think all US carrier versions have it now, but not the factory unlocked version.

I don't have a V20, but an Oreo update on my Moto G5+ showed a number of changes in the Settings menus. The internal Memory use is no longer visible. You can't clear the apps Cached data, which is now an automatic process. My battery life is a lot better, but that may be because background data use has been turned off wherever possible.

Not particularly relevant to the V20 which is the subject of this thread.

My V20 got updated the other day. Everything seems fine except the auto screen brightness feature. On auto it turns itself off sometimes.

You said Verizon is usually last to update their devices well not the case here with LG G5.It was the first one to receive the Oreo update back in August followed by T-Mobile.That why I said what I said.

    Usually. Not always.
And that's just my unscientific observation.

It's always hit or miss. VZW might be first with one device and last with another for same version on similar devices.

But it has always felt like Verizon drags.
I've never had current devices that were getting updates. It's jist based on reports/tech news I read.

I have an LG G5 and it says that it is up to date with 7.0 nougat. How did you receive the update, OTA or manually?
