If I activate a TravelPass for $10 ($6 when using refills from eBay), I can talk all day long to/from the US and not be charged more.

I guess it really depends how consistently you use the data and how many minutes you typically talk while traveling. For any extended stay in another country, I always end up getting a local SIM anyway.

Local SIM is the cheapest option but when my wife was in Spain last year, she simply used What’s App to call home over WiFi and it didn’t cost a dime.

They will typically send an email. Or someone will post info on the forums.

Prepaid has had TravelPass for some time now (at least a year?). I used it last summer in Canada.

I now have an unlocked phone, so alternate local SIMs are an option for me...but just turning on TravelPass and keeping my setup (no SIM swap, same number, etc.) seems like less of a hassle.

When setting up auto pay it showing taxes and fees will be charged for a total of $48 and change. I did not finish setting it up. Did anyone else see this and does the full amount get deducted or just the $45?

If you have a balance greater than $45, then autopay will just deduct $45. If autopay charges your credit card because the balance isn’t enough, you will be charged tax.

if you don’t set up autopay then it’s $50/month if you have a balance.

With autopsy Verizon credits your account $5 and then pulls $50 from your balance.

yes i think they recently made an interesting change about how autopay works. so if you want to avoid taxes I would make sure to have $50 in your account and not $45....
