Activate old Verizon flip phone (non LTE)

I have two old Verizon flip phones that turn on and work fine. However I have pictures on them I need to pull off. I went to the Verizon store and they are unable to activate anything without a SIM card since August...wondering if a prepaid carrier would do it since the switchover isn't until end of year.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks!

Why not copy pictures using a computer or Bluetooth? Or microsd if the phone has a slot

Have you tried hooking it up to a computer via a USB cable?

    1. Connect the device to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
    2. From the phone, ensure USB Mass Storage Mode is enabled.
    3. From the main screen, navigate: MENU > Settings & Tools > Tools.
    4. Note Utilize the 5-way navigation pad to highlight and the OK button to select.
    5. Select USB Mass Storage.
    6. From the computer, launch File Explorer, Windows Explorer, or Finder.
    7. From File Explorer, Windows Explorer, or Finder on the computer, create a new folder in the desired location.
    8. Use the computer to copy picture/video files into the newly created folder.

One phone does have Bluetooth but not sure if pics will transfer. Will try that. Neither has a card slot. Samsung SCH-A850 and -A870.

Neither has a "supplied" usb cable but I do believe they did exist at one time as they are on eBay for around cheap. Not sure however if drivers exist. It would be a ton easier to activate and message the pictures. I do have some data recovery companies looking into it.

There may be a little time left to activate them on PagePlus for $10. I don't know how big the pics are, but the $10 might be enough to send the pictures to wherever you're trying to send them.

You guys nailed it, activated and pictures sent. They even transferred my other device over after I pulled the pics off one so I only had to activate one line. Did it through Verizon prepaid so I'm sure I paid an arm and a leg compared to PP but I got them...$32...

A data recovery company wanted $250 per phone...haha...can only be done over the phone apparently even the store can't do it.

The pics were of our dog when we got her at the pound in 2004 and the year afterward...she died a few days ago...15 years old. Nice to have those first pictures.

Thanks guys seriously means a lot to us!

Good to hear Page Plus came through!

I would suggest pursuing the Bluetooth transfer anyway as MMS may have compressed the image and BT should send the whole file as saved from camera. Pairing can be a slow and trial and error process. Try setting the receiver into pairing mode and sending without pairing if pairing is giving issues. Reboot often.

Very sorry for your loss. Glad you got the pics even if lower res.

I will say it was nice to talk to CS and have them understand what I needed done and it worked right away. Refreshing. Didn't mind paying one bit!
