Question Phone compatibility questions on PagePlus--HELP!

I recently ported my PP # from my old iPhone 4s (now my husband has that phone, it's old but is bug-free) to a iPhone 5c a friend gave me—which I hate because it will not keep correct time; maybe a small issue for some but a big deal to me. Anyway, I'm considering buying an iPhone SE off eBay--I like small phones--but have a question. I know it has to be on the Verizon network, but somewhere I read that devices advertised as "unlocked" will not work on Page Plus. So there are lots of phones with a description similar to this: "This iPhone is for use with Verizon and is also unlocked for GSM carriers like AT&T, T-Mobile and MetroPCS." Question: would a phone like that work with PagePlus?

    Thanks for your help!

Those phones should work. But to be safe, confirm that the iPhone SE is model A1662.

I've seen other models but you're saying they won't work? ONLY A1662? Thanks!

Last Verizon iPhone compatibility list I saw specifically states "A1662A" only, for the SE. Like dmart said.

The phone should be here Friday; will definitely report back about the final activation.

The phone works great--no problem with activation. I'm a happy camper!

BTW, I've had great success calling PagePlus customer service for porting numbers on three occasions. Only real change was my $80 360-day refill gets me fewer minutes since the SE is a 4G phone, but it's still a bargain.

A1662 unlocked is the intended iPhone SE model intended for Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile in the U.S. The A1723 model of the iPhone SE sold by Sprint lacks LTE band 13. Trying to activate an iPhone on the Verizon network without band 13 is probably worse than trying to activate an iPhone on Sprint without band 41.

Technically, they should work and have no problem being activated (as long as they're unlocked), but data speeds will suffer, and with VoLTE now available to most users, voice quality can suffer as well.

Activation on the Verizon network should allow HD Voice over VoLTE, which has a lot better call sound quality. And why would there be a data speed loss?

At least in my area, there are still many Verizon towers that provide LTE *only* on Band 13 700MHz, never having been upgraded since vzw's initial LTE deployment (so, no B4/66 or B2, nor B5 here since AT&T holds both A & B side CLR licenses). These are likely more prevalent in less-dense parts of the country, but if you're within the service area of one of these sites with a phone lacking B13, it will either try to use whatever faint, distant signal on another LTE band it might be able to barely lock onto, or fall back to CDMA EVDO or 1xRTT. Either will be, at best, considerably slower. The CDMA modes also have the drawback of not allowing simultaneous data use during a voice call, and worse yet, Verizon is scheduled to shut down CDMA entirely at the end of 2019.

The original poster should be in good shape with her A1662, though.
