Best option for 91 year old PP customer on a CDMA phone

I've had my grandma set up with PP since about 2013. She has been rocking that $12 / mo plan since.

We all know the CDMA shutdown is coming. Cheap android smartphone is not out of the question because there may be circumstances where she needs to take Uber. Granny gets around! Please tell me what would be the best way to go for either scenario

    1. LTE compatible flip phone -- I don't see any in stock on PP website (thought maybe buying a Kyocera Dura XV on Ebay would be good).

    2. Android 8 + cheap smartphone -- I saw they have some options on the PP site but wondered about alternative purchase options as well.

Any LTE phone from Total Wireless, Straight Talk (VZW spec), Net10 (VZW spec) or Tracfone (VZW spec) will work out of the box on PP.

I suppose I could get her a used Verizon 6s or something. Good thought.

And I would just order her a PP sim, and then contact their CS and say -- we want to switch the plan from an ESN 3G phone to an LTE phone, right?

Just use the SIM that comes with the phone.

I just want to put a happy ending on this story. I got a Total Wireless branded LG Rebel 4 on sale for my grandma today. It was on sale for 49.99. I had no problem activating it on Page Plus on my grandma's $12 / mo plan. I used PP chat support. The phone supports HD voice / LTE calling.

Did you use the TW SIM to activate?

My mom is 90+ and has been on PPC with a Moto W385 flipphone. I got her a $10 Tracfone MyFlip, activated the included SIM, moving her PPC over to it and she's good to go.

I did the same for my 88yo mother to replace her old Samsung flip later in the year. I like the MyFlip so much I'll need to buy another for her; I'm keeping this little puppy for a backup.
