    New 500 voice minutes add-on for $10 on Tracfone.com

Just noticed that there is a new add-on listed here on the Tracfone site (scroll down):

If you have a Tracfone branded account, the 1GB for $8 data add-on is also back in the checkout when you add something to your cart.
Add a promo code for an extra 500MB for a total of 1.5GB for $8.

How long have we been waiting for Tracfone to offer a minutes only airtime card?
500 minutes with no service days for $10.

This is great news. I've wanting to just buy minutes for the longest time. Makes TF even more valuable to my family.

Wow, that is good news. $0.02/minute!

Now if it can maintain its presence on the website, and if they would offer all of those things, including the $49.99 365 service days offer, to BYOP users, it would be quite the draw.

Better do it now. With TF, they can change/withdraw the option any time.

Hopefully this will be more stable as a regular Add-On than the "More For Your Phone" offerings.
It is also listed in the My Account phone app.

Since the first smartphones and the 3 bucket system. 2013?

2˘/min isn't great but not terrible either.

What cards have they removed and not replaced with better?

Only the TMFL card was short lived.

The original text & data cards were replaced with better deals.

DMFL card and 400min+2yr+DMFL lasted a long time.

There were some good deals that came and went quickly. Back in January 2017, the TF app offered 400-minute card for $25, when tripled they gave 1200/1200/1200. That disappeared after a few weeks. Then late last year, the UPSELL option appeared in the TF app, allowing people to buy 365 days for $49.99 without having to do the trick of adding a card to the cart then removing it. The UPSELL option is now gone, and the 365-day add-on is now only offered only to TF-branded phones.

2 cents/min is far cheaper than the cost on TracFone airtime cards (ignoring the other values).

How did you get the "cents" symbol? Have not seen that since the LG800G which had an extensive International character set.

2˘ a minute was what Lycamobile was clocking in with when they first showed up.

A lot of people were excited by that including me.
I jumped on the Lycamobile bandwagon when it was very new here.
What I liked especially was the long expiration along with cheap minutes.

I have the ˘ symbol on all of my Androids.

I use SwiftKey and keep a German keyboard active.
But the ˘ symbol is on the English keyboard too.

When Net10 started, it was 10 cents per talk minute.

    I remember that.
The 10 in Net10 was for the per minute rate.

I also remember that T-Mobile had the $100 for a thousand minutes and year of service.

I think that AT&T GoPhone had a 25˘ a minute prepaid plan and before T-Mobile went to the 10˘ a minute with the $100 refill they were also 25˘ a minute a long long time ago.
