There is surely no technical reason for this not to be instant. It implies there are 1-2 days each month when bonus data is inactive. Since bonus data is used first this strange policy will slightly reduce your rollover data (if any), but otherwise I'm not seeing the purpose for it.

That's nice to know, I dislike 480p throttling.

Wow, very nice compared to Verizon 15gb for $45. Need to use up my Verizon credits and move over.

    I take it you haven't used AT&T Prepaid's OLAM.

BTW, I have the pics so I'll post them anyways. Note the deprioritization listed on the second pic:

$9.88 for a sim kit when you can go to a corporate store and get sims for free. Wow.

Speaking of SIM cards, if I were to buy one online to get this plan. If I waited a bit to activate (maybe a month) how soon do I need to activate the SIM card before it goes bad or they don’t?

Do the corporate stores levy an activation fee in lieu of charging for the sim?

Mine never has, walked in the other day and got 2 sims for our phones. Was trying to get VoLTE to work by getting a new sim but it didn’t work. A few days later though volte and WiFi calling worked.

That's the funny thing about corporate stores:

Walk in, start AT&T Prepaid service, get free SIM(s) with no activation fee.
Walk in. start AT&T postpaid service, pay up to $45/device activation fee.

Don’t think SIM cards go bad.

Has anyone tried contacting AT&T to see if they can switched to this Double Data plan instead of having to go through porting out to a different carrier then port back in? It seems so silly to have to go through all that.

Cannot do that through CHAT or email.

I was hoping someone will call , as I am not too good on the phone for something that could be "binding" like that.
Too easy to get something wrong if I don't understand too well.
    [I am a foreigner]

I rather NOT have to switch back & forth to ATT

Porting can be a pain. You think you have the right information and something doesn't work. You wait a day and call back. Then get the suggestion you call the company you are porting from to verify they release your number.

And doing it just to come back in a few days or weeks just doubles the pain.
iPhone X is my current primary phone. I have older model iPhones and Moto phones available on other lines. Currently prepaid, though would consider postpaid on right plan.

I did call yesterday. Rep tried her best to add but said code wouldn't let it go thru. Then I asked to escalate the call since I've been loyal AT&T customers for more than 10 years, postpaid and prepaid and they could see that history as well. Manager came back and said no. At this point I'm inclined to go to Verizon prepaid where I believe they let unlocked phones to have VoLTE and 15 GB of data as well. But in Verizon prepaid forum, apparently service is heavily deprioritized, unlike Verizon postpaid. Oh well.

Even though we do not download movies/music, ... we seem to need a lot more data than our current 8 GB, so 22 GB / $65 from Wing Alpha looks more & more attractive.

I need ATT network: I already talked to Wing Alpha by CHAT, and I have a zip code ready where SPRINT has no signal [I go on vacation several months a year there - or, at least, I could]

I may end-up paying more than I should, but I may give-up on ATT and go to Wing Alpha.
