I sent 2 messages to Lyca through the website asking about this and for a refund. I received no response so I filed an FCC complaint on 9-2 and today 9-6 Lyca Mobile called me, explained the changes that a paygo balance is now only good for 30 days and granted me a refund of my $10.05 per my request I filed in the FCC complaint, ... check is in the mail.

Moral of the story, don't discount the effort of an FCC complaint.

    Congrats!

It crossed my mind to file, since they had never once sent me a single text or email about this change. I had a couple three bucks more than that left in the account, but then I have nursed that account along for more than 5 years with no recharges, and I also did not want a second fight about porting out if I did get a refund. Good on ya, though.

I have 3 accounts I will do the same for. I hope I can do this on one form. I took screenshots of the account balances if this helps the claim process. I am out over $20 for all 3 accounts.

Filed complaint to FCC (almost $10 remaining balance) after Lycamobile refused to issue refund.

    1. Send email to [email protected] requesting refund.
    2. They will reply with refuse to issue refund.
    3. Save their answer as pdf file.
    4. Go to https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/h..._form_id=39744 and submit complaint to FCC and attach pdf from 3.
5 You will receive confirmation email from FCC.

Still the same problem. Under “phone issues” there are only 2 options neither of which has anything to do with refunding my money. And this and the sub menus MUST be filled out in order to submit. I’ll just call the phone number included on the form tomorrow: 888-225-5322.

Got phone call today from Lycamobile:

"Your refund (check) will be mailed to your home address between 3 and 10 business days".

So, while filing complaint to FCC, provide correct phone number to contact you (not Lycamobile number).

Thanks for the suggestions to make the FCC complaint regarding stranded balances. According to lyca today, "the check is in the mail".

Got refund check from Lycamobile. Account balance now is $0.00

Interesting moment: I can dial 1-800 numbers using cancelled Lycamobile SIM with 0 balance.

Took long enough, but I just received my check on Saturday 9/21. My account is also zeroed out.
Unlike many TF Inc. Subs in recent weeks, months now a year+ TF Inc. not showing much love to their TF service customers, especially BYOP.
