AT+t personal cellspot for no service at mountain home ?

    Hi ,
Does At+t have a personal cellspot box like TMobile ?
My friend lives up in the Santa Cruz mountains and there is no cell service where he is ,

He does have a good Internet feed ,

He has an older iPhone that does not have wifi calling.
So if they do have personal wifi box , how far is the range , and what is the model number ?

    Thanks for your advise
Wanted: old barnfind VWs and Sports cars ,
save them from the crusher , I have had my tetanus shots so rust does not scare me ,
    anything considered even parts cars

AT&T has something called Home Base, but that requires cell signal to operate. I don't know of a AT&T femtocell that connects to existing Internet to supply local, short range, cell signal.

    Alternatives:
Get a phone that works with Wifi calling on the carrier service plan.

Get a Google Voice number and use the GV or Hangouts app on the phone. That would be a different number unless you port the cell number to GV for ~$30.

An Analog Telephone Adapter (ATA) can be connected to the home Internet to provide home phone service to traditional landline phones. An Obiha/Polycom ATA is about $50 and you can run a GV number on it for free.

    Hi
He has a land line so he is not out of touch ,
I have a TMobile personal cellspot and was hoping that At&t had the same thing ,

He really does not use his iPhone much and it works fine when he gets up on the county road , just not at his house or garage.

Someday he will updatehis phone , or his wife will give him her old one when she upgrades.

I will keep looking , thanks

Buy a att microcell from eBay. It uses a internet connection to provide a 4G (HSPA+) signal. Att has discontinued them but you can still activate them and use one
