Angry Tracfone "free" international long distance will soon be DEAD

I have been calling France for years for the same rate as local calls.

Today, my sister called me and told me that "soon", ALL land lines in France will be as "09 Non-geographic number (used by Voice over IP service)"

France 9 number is now considered a mobile phone number by the Tracfone system.

SO, unless they change this policy:

Tracfone "free" international long distance will soon be DEAD

Auris used to provide Tracfone's ILD. Perhaps send them a message about this problem if Tracfone is not responsive. There is a contact form at the top of their web page.

    Seriously!?

What's WRONG with people, including femuse, posting INCORRECT blanket statements in a thread title, as if they are fact, when it's specific to just ONE scenario and/or experience and/or are just plain wrong!?!?!?!?

There was a similar recent thread in the Google Voice forum that was the same...a poster made a WRONG statement in the thread title as if it was fact, only to find out it was NOT CORRECT AT ALL!!!!!

Kinda like the guy saying TF no longer offers chat support because he couldn't get it to work fir a few days.

    The hyperbole is ridiculous.

I see that in the website there is no longer reference to the 1-800-706-3829 access number, just to the 305 number, however that number seems to still be active.

Also, I had forgotten that I had setup some tracfone frequent international numbers years ago, but I cannot longer get into the management/setup of those because for some reason the website doesn't recognize my TF#/IMEI combination. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, or if it's just the functionality no longer being available.

That was an interesting thread. I thought the guy was getting unhinged toward the end of his rant. I got the feeling he was not yet even a teenager. It was fun watching the thread progress

Judging from his writing style (good punctuation, correct grammar, lack of spelling errors, etc), I think he's older than a teenager. Too much of a "drama queen" though, and thinks the world is against him.

LOL! I got in. I had to use the IMEI from the original device that was assigned to that number, an old Nokia 2600 . There seems to be no way to update the IMEI information to the current device anywhere since Tracfone doesn't do it for you, as I supposed it would.

One can get some clues from googling someone's user name.

I believe the person is 40-something and trying to keep it together for a long time.

    I remember the feeling.

    Being mean is not helpful.

Whoa, let's calm down. Obviously the title is wrong, but reading the whole post the issue is clearly related to 1 international dialing destination and not all.

It's not like this dude gave us wrong directions to turn left or right and we drove off a cliff.

Probably another feature that didn't migrate to the new site.

Like others you have to contact support to make changes.

France is known for doing some quirky things on it's own, but could it be part of a larger (EU?) plan.

Could be but nothing indicating that yet.
