    Can't Text to Tracfone 611611

    No problem sending/receiving texts from any number except 611611.

    Can receive from 611611 OK but attempts to send yield the old "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped" error message. Tried the usual methods to clear that error but nothing worked.

    Running ver. 6.0.1 which is latest one available to my Samsung Galaxy Sky on Verizon.

    I texted balance to 611611 early this AM and just now.
    No problem on my end. I also have the Samsung Galaxy Sky on Verizon.

    Have you searched for that error message?
    There are some solutions to fix it listed.

    Yeah, I've tried about 8-10 of them- deleting many different app caches and data, battery out, SIM card out, installing a different text program, etc., but it's still doing it.

    About only one left to try is a hard factory data reset-- but am concerned that this might somehow mess up my TF balances or service end date.

    Since the phone is working fine otherwise, I may just leave it alone. I've been a TF customer for years and never had occasion to text to 611611 before the other day when I tried to respond to a texted survey feedback from them.

    Thus, I have no idea how long the problem has existed. Could have been like that for a long time!

    In the course of trying a dozen-plus remedies, I managed to screw up some phone settings and had to make an outgoing phone call after every power-on to reconnect to the cellular network.

    I contacted TF tech support via chat and the guy mashed a few buttons on his keyboard which cured that problem.

    He recommended a factory reset to cure the 611611 issue and said if that didn't fix it, I should replace the phone. He hung on while I did the factory reset which in fact resolved it-- any my balances are intact.

    Pretty decent tech support!
