World SIMs that roam on US Verizon ??

We know about Truphone and Piranha Mobile, both of which are UK-based World SIMs that roam on AT&T in the US (Truphone includes a US phone number, and Piranha charges extra for one).

Are there are any World SIMs that roam on Verizon in the US ?

    They could use VoLTE.

Now... I have tried a Vodafone SIM here and it is roaming on AT&T.

I've not seen any non-US SIM roam on Verizon (or Sprint for that matter). From what I've assumed over the years, the legacy CDMA nature of these two providers basically precluded them from being an international roaming partner.

As such, most GSM phones simply couldn't make a call on them because they lack the CDMA technology and from what I understand VoLTE roaming isn't simple to implement (though it does exist). Obviously the latter issue will need to be addressed in the coming years as the legacy 3G networks get shut down (e.g., AT&T will be shuttering the 3G network in 2022, and I presume there are similar plans in other countries to go all packet-based in the near future).

you might want to look into the Verizon prepaid travel pass option - https://www.verizonwireless.com/supp...avelpass-faqs/

I have popped in my EU Vodafone SIM and instead of "Automatic" network selection, I did a manual search.
    This is what I got:

Vodafone list of roaming partners shows AT&T for USA (3G and 4G data):
    https://www.airtel-vodafone.com/disc...aming-partners

Other providers might have similar lists, based on their individual rooming agreements.
For example, Orange France and Deutsche Telekom entered a partnership that probably means that those two providers will be roaming over T-Mobile in US.

    International sims I’ve tested

O2 Germany would roam on AT&T

Orange UK (before switching to EE) T-Mobile & AT&T

    EE UK - T-Mobile & AT&T

    Giffgaff UK - T-Mobile.

That I’m aware of at least in testing.

But yeah I’d assume the volte roaming bit would be hard to implement. Which would definitely be required.

Don't forget, Vz. historically, operated on CDMA (which was only in U.S. and Canada). Thus, foreign carriers could only roam on the world std. GSM. Maybe, they felt it was easier to stick w. bands etc. that ATT uses and keep the ATT agreements.
GoogleVoice (domestic call forwarding and cheap intl. calls) Use GV to give us a "home" number in a 2nd location
8 T-Mobile lines - Unlimited talk and text, data. TM One plan. Get $10/mo. rebate on 7 lines for low data use. Net cost about $175/mo. We have had no landline in more than 17 years.

Japan and Asia were big CDMA carriers. The Asian carriers are more likely to roam on Verizon. Asia was mostly CDMA whereas Europe was all GSM.

The rest of the world (except Japan, South Korea, some rare exceptions in other countries) is based on GSM. Even though Verizon (and Sprint) has joined the rest of the world compatibility-wise by using LTE, foreigners visiting the US from abroad are likely using devices that don't have support for Verizon's LTE bands. With no LTE service, the device would fall back to 3G (UMTS, W-CDMA, HSPA - not the same as CDMA used by Verizon) or 2G (GSM, GPRS / EDGE). All but the most very basic/cheap phones sold abroad would at least support the four GSM bands used worldwide, guaranteeing at least basic service (calls, texts, slow data).

Throw in the fact that Verizon is probably the most expensive carrier to setup a roaming contract with, and it makes zero sense for a foreign carrier or a world SIM provider to partner with Verizon.
