Exclamation Sprint iPad Pro still active/leased With a previous owner.

Bought on Swappa and signed up on FreeUp (AT&T MVNO) discovered six weeks later that the iPad was still activated on sprint. Sprint store clerk informed me that it was a leased unit and was still active with regular payments being received.
My question is what will sprint do if the original owner stops making payments? I assume that it would be placed on some sort of blacklist and if so, would it still be usable on Wi-Fi and or GSM carriers?

if the original owner stops making payments then the ipad could be reported as lost or stolen see if sprint can get in touch with the original owner and get the device paid off. it should be usable on WI-FI.

Thanks October262 A return for refund has been requested. I tried to keep the original post as brief as possible
You say it should be usable on Wi-Fi. I was hoping that someone could give me a definitive answer regarding use after a sprint blacklisting if it happens.
Number one will it definitely be usable as a Wi-Fi device?
Number two will it be usable on GSM networks as I am doing now?

    Thanks all

you can use it as a wi-fi device as for using it on GSM networks, you may be fine, but don't hold your breath !! the ipad pro my be stolen, doesn't make sense to sell something your still making payments on.

contact the seller on swappa. if it is a legit seller with good seller history, then the person should be able to work with you. now the question is, was the swappa seller the original owner, and if so, then they can do something about that too. anyway, i would leave feedback on the sale indicating that they sold an item that was still under a lease, which is kind of a bad thing to do. especially since they, i assume, did not put that information in the item description.

i would also say contact swappa help, and inform them that the seller was trying to sell something still under lease. i've found swapa help to be..actually helpful, if something goes wrong.

Make sure you check the box to send the message to swappa staff besides the seller.
